01 / What's in it
Everything you would build first, already built.
The parts every paid web product needs and nobody wants to build twice, already working together. Every provider is optional: with only a database, the app runs and the tests pass.
lib/auth/
Sign-in, six ways.
better-auth with email verification, password reset and invite links. Every protected page, route and server action checks the session on the server, so hiding a button is never the only thing standing in the way.
- Email + password
- GitHub
- Apple
- Magic link
- Phone code
- Sign-in, phone codes, magic links and password resets are rate-limited
- Waitlist mode turns sign-up into invite-only, with links you approve
- Admin pages check the role on the server and answer 404 to everyone else

lib/payments/
Three providers. One adapter.
Pick one in
lib/config.ts. Plans are paid once, webhooks are verified before they are read, and a retry is never a second payment.- Razorpay→ PaymentAdapter
- Stripe→ PaymentAdapter
- Dodo Payments→ PaymentAdapter
lib/email/templates/
Email, already designed.
Verification, magic links, password resets, receipts, invites and announcements: React Email templates sent through Resend, each one previewable at/admin/emails.app/(dashboard)/admin/
An admin console.
Answers 404 to anyone who is not an admin, so nobody learns it exists.- Users

lib/config.ts
Waitlist mode.
Go live with a page and an email field, approve people from the admin, and flip one setting when you open to everyone.lib/seo/
SEO, generated.
Metadata, canonical URLs, share images, a sitemap and structured data, all built from one site file.content/legal/
Legal drafts.
A Privacy Policy and Terms written against what the code actually does. A starting point to have reviewed, not legal advice.tests/
Tests that start green.
Playwright smoke tests that pass on a fresh clone with only a database. A test that needs a provider account skips itself until you add one.
Also: Postgres with Prisma 7 on any host · uploads to any S3-compatible bucket, typed by their bytes, not their name · shadcn/ui and Tailwind v4, light and dark · an MDX blog.
02 / How it works
Easy to start. Easy to ship.
- 01Buy with your emailNo account needed. The receipt and the access email go to that address.
- 02Tell us your GitHub usernameThe access email links to a page where you give it. That account gets a read-only invitation to the private repository.
- 03Accept the invitationFrom GitHub's email, or at github.com/YoIndie/starter-kit/invitations.
- 04Run the installerIt copies the kit into your folder, names the project and creates .env with a fresh secret. It never overwrites a file, and nothing points back to our repository.
And then: ship it
Deploy to Vercel or any Node host.
Migrations run during the production build, and the deployment guide ends with a go-live checklist: the URL, the rate limits and the legal pages people forget.

04 / The license
Build and sell anything with it. Don’t resell the kit.
You may
- Use it in unlimited personal and commercial projects
- Modify it however you like
- Run what you build as a SaaS and earn from it
- Build applications for clients and hand over their source
- Sell the finished applications you build with it
You may not
- Resell, redistribute or publish Starter Kit itself, modified or not
- Offer it, or something substantially derived from it, as a competing template or starter
- Put its source in a public repository
The full license comes with the kit, in its LICENSE file. The line is between an application built with Starter Kit, which is yours to sell, and Starter Kit itself.
05 / FAQ
Before you buy.
Something else? Email us.
Do I need an account to buy?
No. You buy with an email address. The receipt and the access email go to it, and any YoIndie code we send belongs to it.
How do I get the code?
Starter Kit is a private GitHub repository. After payment we email you a link to tell us your GitHub username; that account gets a read-only invitation. Accept it, then run the installer with npx. You never clone the repository, and nothing in your project points back to it.
What do I need to run it?
Node.js 20.19+, 22.12+ or 24+, a PostgreSQL database on any host, and Git signed in to GitHub, on macOS, Linux or Windows. No other service is needed to start: each provider turns on when you add its keys.
I bought from YoIndie before. Do I pay less?
Yes, if your first YoIndie purchase was paid by 31 December 2026 (UTC). Then Starter Kit is $15 instead of $30. Enter the YoIndie code we emailed you. Buy Starter Kit by that date and you get a code too, and eligible YoIndie apps then cost $1 each. The code does not expire.
Is it a subscription?
No. You pay once. Nothing renews, and there is no automatic updater: once installed, the code is yours.
How do I take a newer version later?
Run the installer into a separate empty folder (npx fetches the latest from the repository each time), compare it with your project, and copy across what you want. You need access to the repository to do this.
Can I use it for client work?
Yes. You can build applications for clients and deliver them with their source. You cannot resell or publish Starter Kit itself.
Can I get a refund?
If it does not work as described and we cannot fix it, email contact@yoindie.com within 14 days of the charge and we will refund it. Beyond that, payments are non-refundable except where consumer law where you live says otherwise. A refund ends access to the repository.
Is tax included?
Yes. The price shown is what you pay: any sales tax or VAT for your country is already in it. Paying in your own currency adds only a 2–4% conversion fee, shown before you pay.
Can I pay in my own currency?
Yes. Prices are in US dollars, but the payment page can charge you in your local currency, including by UPI in India. It shows the converted amount, with a conversion fee of 2–4% and any tax, before you pay, and your receipt shows what you were charged.
What if npx cannot reach the repository?
Check that git is signed in to the GitHub account you gave us. If it still cannot, reply to your access email and we will send the kit as a package file you install with npx instead.
Where do I get help?
Email contact@yoindie.com. The README and the guides in docs/ cover each module's setup, and /admin/setup in your running app shows what is configured and names the variable for anything that is not.
